A rare, vintage, and exceptional mainline Missoni, early Ottavio-era work (70s–early 80s).  The sleeveless intarsia-knit vest in a complex figurative design embodies the passion of Ottavio Missoni during his time with the brand and features an intricate design of tigers, crashing waves, scrollwork, Poseidon, the sea, celestial motifs, and more worked in teal, cobalt, pink, gold, black, and white. The buttons have the same pattern as the fabric. The knit is a dense 60% rayon / 25% cotton / 15% nylon blend; the back has a deep inverted V-hem with a teal trim border. The white oval "MISSONI / Made in Italy" label confirms early mainline production also places this knit in the 1970s to early 1980s. A complex pictorial work, very rare.
